Conch Call Poster Art Digital Print Illustration by DaftDysnomia

Everyday is World Ocean Day!

Every June the 8th, we celebrate World Ocean Day, but really we must remember everyday how important our oceans are for our livelihood! Raising awareness on overfishing, healthy marine habitat, and pollution should be the campaign of our lifetime!

"Conch Call" Is by @DaftDysnomia for Bahamian mindful island collective @islandalign. It is a photograph of the Bahamian shoreline with a digital watercolour and gouache mixed-medial of the conch shell. The Queen Conch shell is a national food of The Bahamas, and is also very central to their culture-- it has been used as jewellery and decoration for hundreds of years, and can be used as a physical instrument. This piece portrays how life from the ocean is the very heartbeat of our civilisation, and should be respected so.
